I am responsible for my own triggers.

This is a tough but important one to be reminded of if we want to find freedom from things that have made us suffer.

I, you, us, we are as individuals a melting pot of billions of different big and large impressions, experiences and actions. Of huge events and micro traumas.

In those are tangles of smells, colours, words, gestures, and a thousand other things that can hit a part of our memory stores that can set us into a spiral.

The things that happen to us are not always of our own doing, but how we respond, how we heal - whether it feels fair or not - is our responsibility.

Yes, we can and should fight for a more compassionate world, always but at the end of the day it is in my best interests, as it is in yours, to take ownership - and therfore take back power - of our own triggers, work to dissolve them and liberate ourselves from their stronghold.

This is the penultimate goal to consistent happiness.
