The Prana Farm

Planting a tree is to plant purpose, hope and legacy.
All welcome.

The Prana Farm is the tactile headquarters of The Prana Project. It is a living, breathing part of Bundjalung country, surrounded by ancient gums, nestled beside the mighty Richmond River, lined with thousands of newly planted native trees and grasses, wildlife returning and the symphony of local birdlife. It’s a place of caring for Country, restoring soil quality, healing degraded agricultural land, planting trees, shrubs, flowers, food and grasses, where animals of different shapes and sizes live side by side (aka The Squad), all playing their part and where humans learn their place in the weave of the great mystery; finding purpose through connection and service to environment. A place where humans can heal, thrive and evolve through direct involvement in the re-invigoration of wounded environments.

Planting For Habitat 2025

NEXT PLANTING DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED

It's been a long, hot, dry summer out here at The Prana Project but plenty of our babies planted last year are thriving. Many we can't see for the grass, some have succumb to the harsh conditions and a whole heap of little champions are getting their toes down into this tough ground, on their journey to transforming this landscape!

We've got final batch of trees from Friends of the Koala Inc. - 400 in total - that we're picking up for our next planting day for 2025. These plants are priority for the significant number of koalas that live in this little pocket that wraps around Casino and heads toward Lismore, they need food!! Now endangered, koala habitat needs to be in the ground NOW, taking 5 years to start feeding a koala and 10 years to start supporting a colony.

Can you spare a few hours from 8am to 1pm to come and help us get these babies in the ground? There will be a yoga class to start the day and vegetarian lunch to satiate you at the end.

And if you can't make it, remember that every class, every retreat, every Dissolving Patterns Program, every POW of Peri course, every Yoga Therapy session and every Massage you participate in, you are contributing to this incredible regen project, that links human and environmental wellbeing back together.

Help Us To Help You!

Are you afar but don’t want to feel the FOMO of not being able to get down and dirty with us on our planting days?

Did you know that currently the quantity of land clearing of precious habitat, including that of those lovable little furry butted koalas, outweighs the amount of trees being planted and forests being protected?

In a recent report, private landholders willing to donate hectares of their land to native regeneration were put forward as one of the most prolific ways to restore this perplexing equation.

The Prana Farm on the banks of the Richmond River, has a property management plan in place to regen more than a third of it’s total land area, including the entire 700m length of river it sits on and needs your help to do it!

Every $11 donated, buys up to 10 baby lomandra or 5 native trees. Each baby lomandra can grow up to a whopping 2 metres in diameter, connecting it’s roots underground to other lomandra, literally weaving riverbanks back together! That’s one helluva grass. 10 lomandra, for just $11, can weave up to 20sqm of bank.

If you feel the urge, please donate and help us to keep the impact of this work of healing people and place, thriving for years to come.

Retreats

Big River Dreaming

One Day Yoga Retreat

Dates To Be Announced

Big River Dreaming is the beginning of a new era for this land. It is the putting of the flag into the soil that says ‘we are now in relationship with this country and that with the help of collective energy, of each other, we will heal our own wounds and fill our cups by tending to land, each other and ourselves with kindness.’

This full day retreat from 8am to 4pm on the banks of the Richmond River will be a stripped back, deeply connecting gathering, with beautiful new and old friends, delicious foods, processes to dissolve the obstructive conditioning that has most of us playing our enormous expansive lives so small, joyous and uplifting, heart-opening, spirit-stirring collective energy to remember your precious place in the great weave of nature.
